Applications
The TS-2 performs exceptionally well as a warm vocal microphone, providing the detail necessary when recording the human voice. It is equally precise when recording guitar and bass cabinets.
The TS-2’s continuously variable pattern selector enables you to alter the polar pattern of the microphone from omni, through cardioid, to figure eight. This added functionality allows for smooth adjustment of pick up field to your environment instead of the microphone dictating your microphone placement.
Electronic Features
Reminiscent of an enduring classic tube microphone, the TS-2 utilizes a 12AT7 vacuum tube to bring unsurpassed detail and depth to your recordings. The adjustable Heater Voltage control customizes the tube to allow tailoring of the microphone to your tonal requirements. A precision voltage meter provides repeatability.
A specially designed, high-quality output transformer delivers an isolated, balanced output signal, minimizing the possibility of unwanted noise entering the preamplifier. A switchable pad at either 10dB or 20dB provides gain control.
WAVE FILES
Below are mono .wav files that can be listened to or downloaded onto your computer. These recordings were made by a third party while trying to choose his next large diaphragm mic. Thanks to Harvey at Cherry Valley Records for supplying the clips.
The files are named with the microphone
that was used in the recording. To listen to a file, simply
click on the filename. To download to your computer for comparison
listening, right click on the filename and copy it to any
location on your computer. You may then load these files into
any audio program that will accept the .wav format.
